Looking for some advice. I have a 2006 3.0D X5 with auto transmission. 130 000 km on the clock. In the last week or so it has started to feel like a manual transmission with a slipping clutch. If I accelerate up hill from low speed it takes a moment for the wheels to catch up to the engine. The gearbox seems to be working perfectly well, there Hey guys, After trying pretty much everything (except the tranny itself which the mechanic says is working fine) I was told to replace the Transmission Control Module to a new/updated one. I am also told that I cannot use a used one and had to get a new one and get it programmed at the dealer around $1000 (BMW X5 01 4.4 at 172k miles).
Bmw x5 e53 transmission slipping. My 2001 x5 seems to have a problem suddenly with the reverse gear. It's the 4.4 V8 automatic. When I select the reverse gear it seems like it's slipping and then I get like a thud and it slams into gear. I already changed the fluid and filter and that didn't make a difference.
admranger. You don't fill through that, you fill through the big hole in the bottom of the pan if your transmission is like mine. There is a big plastic cylinder that goes up into the pan. You pump the fluid into the pan and when it flows out (at the specified temperature range), it's full.
